Such a peaceful view and the color is so yummy! :)

Carolyn Marshall replied:

Thank you, Andee. Yes, the entire drive of the Blue Ridge was gorgeous and peaceful. I think the rain the whole time added to that.

Artist's Description

This was my first drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway. We got on the Parkway at Weaverville, North Carolina, and headed south. I had seen so many beautiful images of these mountains that I had high expectations. Unfortunately, it rained almost the entire day, so my images were mostly overcast or rainy. Even with that, I was still awed by the beauty and majesty of the mountains, trees, rock formations, waterfalls, and wildflowers. And, yes, green can be extremely beautiful. I am looking forward now to going back in the Fall for a different perspective. This image was taken just before the French Broad Overlook which is around the 393 mile marker.
