There is something very special about this great, rugged beast languorously dipping his claw tips as if delicately testing the water temp! On the more aesthetic side, the play of diagonals in this composition add tremendously to the overall success of this shot. And if that is not enough then we are also presented with several lovely textures and patterns too! Awesome!

That was a fun day at Gatorland Rookery in Orlando, FL. They were all over the place. We (a group of photographers) were able to get in at 7 a.m. All baby birds and hatchlings were everywhere ... and so were the gators. I had no idea what kind of sound they could make. It sounded like there were a hundred bulldozers trying to clear the place, but it was the gators. Yes, they are incredible creatures.
