In 2004, I was at an event for veterans and was talking with some of the military wives. It came up in the conversation that they did not see a lot written about wives, spouses and families of soldiers and what they go through from day to day. Shortly after that, I wrote the poem called Prayer From A Soldier's Wife and added it to a photograph that I had taken of a bunch of American flags. Wonderful sentiment and poem. Thanks to all of those that sacrifice for our country. God bless.
Carolyn Marshall replied:
Thank you, Debra. I wrote this poem after a very dear friend of mine and I were talking about how much the family goes through when their loved one is serving. My heart goes out to all of them.

Great!
Carolyn Marshall replied:
Thank you, Carol.

Carolyn, just wanted to let you know that as an old retired vet, your poem is very moving...and had tears coming to my eyes.
Carolyn Marshall replied:
Kenneth, I am so sorry. I don't know how I missed your comment. Thank you so much for your service. I'm thankful that God has blessed me to be able to write with words that would speak to the heart, especially about something as important and special as our veterans.
Carolyn Marshall
Thanks, Sue ... it's from the heart.

Really nice poem, Carolyn! I like how you framed it, too.
