The bright red powder puff is a plant that comes from the Fabaceae family. This particular species, Calliandra haematocephala, is found primarily in India, Mexico, Madagascar, South America and the United States. It is usually grown as a hedge or shrub to attract butterflies and bees. This image was taken in Tampa, Florida.

I have been a photographer for many years. For so long, in fact, that I can no longer imagine my life without a camera to capture its special moments.
