Description
A beautiful, bright and colorful monarch butterfly sits delicately perched on green leaves. The sun lights up the bright orange colors and black veins running through the insect wings. The monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is a milkweed butterfly (subfamily Danainae), in the family Nymphalidae. It is perhaps the best known of all North American butterflies.

Very nice- sharp, simple background.
Carolyn Marshall replied:
Thanks, Steve. This is one of the ones I have hanging in both of our NTAL display locations. Just did another one 40x30 on canvas, and it turned out great.

Carolyn Marshall replied:
Thank you, David. My husband gets a kick out of watching me "chase" butterflies.

They are such a cheery little critter! :)

Aren't they! You see them all over the place, but can't help being drawn to the bright, cheerful colors. Thanks so much, Andee!
