Description
This image was taken around the area of the French Broad Overlook which is around the 393 mile marker. The fog and rain falling down on the mountains and trees was gorgeous. This was my first drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway. We got on the Parkway at Weaverville, North Carolina, and headed south. I had seen so many beautiful images of these mountains that I had high expectations. Unfortunately, it rained almost the entire day, so my images were mostly overcast or rainy. Even with that, I was still awed by the beauty and majesty of the mountains, trees, rock formations, waterfalls, and wildflowers. And, yes, green can be extremely beautiful. I am looking forward now to going back in the Fall for a different perspective.

Stunningly beautiful. I love this! v/f and pin with acknowledgments.
Carolyn Marshall replied:
You are so kind, Lenore! I am definitely going to have to go back there when the colors are changing. My daughter is living there now and says there's a very small window to get the peak colors. I can't wait!

Beautiful congrats in color, the green in front and grays in background with the fog, lovely, v.
Carolyn Marshall replied:
Thanks, Sandi. It's really hard shooting in the rain, but add fog and some of the elements, and it is a real challenge.
