Thank you, Kristin. It amazes me when I go to local parks, especially the ones with open lakes (no railing and no boardwalk over it). I will see people with their whole families on on the water's edge watching a gator swimming to shore. I had to remind them how fast a gator can move and to not stand so close, especially when they are moving toward you! I have a very healthy respect for those creatures. :-)

Artist's Description

The Florida alligator is a natural predator that can be found in many bodies of water. This photograph was taken at a marina on Lake Trafford, which is in Southwest Florida at the mouth of the Everglades. A close-up view of the eye of this reptile shows it can be very intimidating.

Over time, however, I have recognized the remarkable similarities in the way that we look at visual elements such as composition, colors, lines, and light. I have come to understand that what constitutes fine art stands apart from whatever techniques that we artists use to ultimately reach that special place. My...
