I have been a photographer for many years. For so long, in fact, that I can no longer imagine my life without a camera to capture its special moments. It took me quite some time before I was able to connect myself to being an artist, because in my mind a photographer and an artist were two distinctly different things. While they were both creative, they used entirely different processes to achieve their artistic goals. Daytona Beach has changed a LOT from when I used to go as a teenager. This shot was taken in May of 2009. That weekend we were there it rained or drizzled most of the time. Every once in a while the sun would come out. The pier used to be a lively place with bands, people and all kinds of activity. Now, it's mostly fishing. Still a great beach to visit. Very nostalgic to me.
