Carolyn I love your capture and processing on this pelican image. In 2005 I went to Louisiana for the first time right after Hurricane Katrina decimated the area. Until that time I had never seen a pelican fly (being from the midwest us). My southern friends laughed when I saw one for the first time and said i thought those things were extinct while driving down the inter-coastal highway. They somewhat look like a Pterodactyl when they fly. Since then i know know they are a pelican in flight.

I've had a couple comments about the colors in the bird. It's amazing to see the differences in color. I didn't really do much to the one above except bring out the light, contrast and other normal adjustments. They are amazing creatures. Had to laugh at the Pterodactyl comment. Guess they could look like that to some, haha.
